A year of Flowers in Charmouth

January

February

Primroses are already prolific in February and you need look no further than the garden of The Elms. Daffodils are becoming very prominent too and the yellow theme is extended by the common celadines and dandelions which are equally spectacular when you look closely.

The crocus were donated by Rotary two years ago to commemorate eradication worldwide of polio.

Ornamentals like cyclamen and camellias add to the colour palette brightening the village.

March

In the welcome sunshine, it is still the garden 'exotics' which dominate, including in the Jubilee Garden: the almond blossom suggests there will be much more to sustain the pollinators before long.

April

Blocks of colour in gardens provide a happy prelude to the more subtle wild flowers to come.
